The machines that made the Embroidery Capital
Before the Cuban sandwich wars, this hill stitched. Schiffli lace machines turned North Hudson — West New York at the center — into the 'Embroidery Capital of the United States' in the early 1900s. The looms are gone; the nickname stayed.
